Town to Close Route 2 Eastbound Exit 5 on October 24-25
Intersection Closed for Street Work – Motorists Should Use Exit 5A

From 2:00 PM on October 24 through 5:00 AM the morning of October 25, 2016, the Town of East Hartford will close the Eastbound Exit 5 off Route 2 to accommodate closeout work including line striping and pavement markings. Following the closure, the Exit 5 ramp and modifications to Willow Street Extension will be complete. Exit 5 serves the area of Willow St., including Pratt & Whitney and CocaCola. Traffic will be diverted to Exit 5A and follow a northward detour on Main St.
Affected motorists can consult the closure map (see attached) for more information and detour guidance. This work is part of the East Hartford Multi-use trail project connecting Riverside Drive and the Charter Oak Greenway.
