East Hartford Residents at risk for Phone Scams, Motor Vehicle Thefts

East Hartford Police Warn Of Phone Scam

Another phone scam has been reported.“Apple Tech Support” calls or leaves a message from 916-233-0160 claiming that there is a problem and asking unsuspecting victims to call a different 1-800 number.  East Hartford Police Detectives warn that it’s a scam, and advise to just hang up, don’t give them access to your computer, don’t give out passwords or financial information, and don’t call them back.

East Hartford Police Warn Of Motor Vehicle Larcenies

The East Hartford Police Department is investigating a series of car burglaries that have occurred during the overnights of Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Detectives are currently investigating these crimes and following several leads. The East Hartford Police Department reminds residents to lock their vehicles, especially at night, to prevent them from becoming a victim. Residents are also encouraged to call the police department to report any and all suspicious activity in their neighborhood, especially at night.
